Chromodoris geometrica is recognisable according to following characteristics :
- the body is greyish or bluish, looking like the phyllidiid's one : with white tubercles and black bands between the tubercles clusters
- the gills and the rhinophores are green

Chromodoris geometrica could be mistaken for Chromodoris conchyliata and Chromodoris hintuanensis. They are distinguished according to the gills and rhinophores colour which is green in C. geometrica and red in C. conchyliata and C. hintuanensis.
