Doris verrucosa can grow to 7cm in length and it has following characteristics :
- the body is grey or yellow, covered in numerous spherical tubercles of the same colour than the body
- the rhinophores and gills also have the same colour than the body
- the gills are large and they slope almost horizontally towards the end of the body
