Glossodoris hikuerensis has a brown body with a multitude of white points, highly undulated at the edge. This species looks like Glossodoris cincta and the edge of the mantle permits to distinguish them. Glossodoris hikuerensis has 3 bands at the border :
an outer brown band, then a pale band and an inner dark (almost black) band.
Another distinctive feature of Glossodoris hikuerensis consists in its gills : this species has double spiral of gills, rather than the simple circle like in most dorids.
