Limacia clavigera is a small dorid, usually less than 20mm in size.
- its body is translucent white
- there are numerous papillae around the head and along the body. They are orange-yellow at the tip and translucent at the base
- three small gills are orange-yellow at the tip and translucent at the base
- the rhinophores are also orange-yellow at the tip and translucent at the base
- there is a median yellowish orange line at the end of the foot
Limacia clavigera feeds on the bryozoan Electra pilosa.
Limacia clavigera could be mistaken for Crimora papillata. They can be distinguished according to the nature of their papillae : C. papillata has short and forked papillae while L. clavigera has long and rounded ones.
