Nembrotha kubaryana
is a large dorid, exceeding 12 cm in size. It can be easily recognized according to following characteristics :
- the black body covered with green pustules, which can be separated or joined together
- the foot is bordered with a reddish orange strip and there are red marks on oral lappets

- rhinophores and gills can be tipped with reddish orange or be uniformly green

Nembrotha kubaryana could be mistaken for Nembrotha cristata. The reddish orange colour allows to distinguish them :
- Nembrotha cristata
completely lacks it
- Nembrotha kubaryana
always has red marks, at least on the foot

Nembrotha kubaryana, like all other species of this genus, feeds on ascidians.
