Pseudobiceros splendidus is a large flatworm. Its dorsal side ranges in colour from brown to black. The edge of the body consists in an yellowish orange band ending by a black line. Its ventral side is paler than the dorsal one.

Pseudobiceros splendidus is similar to Pseudobiceros hymanae. They can be distinguished according to their geographical distribution :
- P. splendidus is only known from the Mediterranean and Eastern Atlantic
- P. hymanae has an Indo-Pacific distribution
